Trying to put off a perfect holiday for your loved ones can be quite stressful. We have all the best intentions on making sure everyone has a wonderful holiday that they will remember forever. But instead we find ourselves staying up late in the night wrapping presents, rushing to bake cookies or going from party to party. We end up feeling overworked and with the holiday flying by us without us taking the moment to enjoy it. But this year will be different! Here are ways that you can ensure that you will have a stress free holiday.
Say No. It’s harder for others to say no than some but during the holidays, you don’t have to sign up for every bake sale, volunteer for every event or even go to every party you are invited to. It is okay to say no. Know what you can handle this year and don’t feel obligated to participate in every holiday event. Not only will you be able to enjoy the events you are willing to attend without worrying about making it to the next party on time but your family will thank you for not feeling rushed around town this holiday season.
You are not Martha Stewart. And really, who wants to be? Don’t stress yourself out making everything perfect. Your Christmas décor doesn’t have to look like a picture off of Pinterest nor does anyone really expect perfection. Ask for help and delegate tasks. Don’t worry if they don’t do things in your perfect standard. Enjoy the time you have to spend with one another instead.
Shop online. Avoid the hassle of crowds and waiting in line. You can get just as good of deals online as you can in the store. Shop from the comfort of your home, while watching TV in your pyjamas on your couch. With a bit of research, you can get some great Christmas deals online.
Set a budget. Having a budget is a great way at making sure you don’t over spend this holiday season. Create a list of everyone you want to purchase presents for and give each person an amount of what you would like to spend on them. Keep track of everything that you spend and stay within your budget. It is never too early to start saving for next year’s holiday season. You can start putting away money December 26th!
Shop throughout the year. There are some pretty amazing deals in the summer and throughout the year that retail stores offer. You can get more for your money as well as get a head on your holiday shopping with you shop throughout the year. Just remember to keep track of what you bought and how much you spent.
