Don’t wait until the last minute to pack. When you are traveling with little ones, you need to plan and prepare as much as possible. If you leave packing to the last minute, it opens up opportunities to forget must have items. Make a list of everything that you need to bring a week before your trip. This will help make sure you pack all the essentials and ensure you do not forget anything. Keep the list with you in a safe spot even after your trip, so that when you pack to go home, you can make sure you don’t leave anything behind. You want to make sure you remember their special attachment items such as a blankie or stuffed animal as well as the other important items such as diapers or wipes.
Snacks are key! Keep a generous amount of snacks handy and easily accessible. If you are flying make sure that they are in your carry on and if you are traveling by car make sure that they are in a location that is easy to reach. Pick snacks that you know that you love and know that it is okay for them to have some extra treats during the trip. Keeping your child happy is key!
Movies! If you have an iPad, a portable DVD player or can stream movies on your phone, make sure you bring these important items. If you don’t any of these items, see if you can borrow from a friend. Make sure that you download a bunch of movies and if they can play games or activities on your device, it may be worth downloading those as well.
